On December 31, 2009, Fortress Youth Development Center began a new era  as we accepted the resignation of Executive Director Michael Thames.  Michael resigned as ED to take a position with Christ's Haven for Children.  Michael has been a driving force with FYDC since its inception and although he will certainly be missed, his fingerprints will remain on the programs and lives he has touched over the years.  During his time at Fortress, many things have changed, but never Michael's love and concern for the children and their future.   

In his place, the Board has secured Paula Jefferson & Associates to provide interim leadership and begin the search for a new director. Dale Brooks and Dale Hart with PJ&A have more than 30 years of experience in non-profit management and will temporarily follow the board's instruction in leading the organization and this search.  As FYDC moves forward in its efforts to find God's replacement for Michael, please keep Fortress in your prayers, and remember Michael as he begins his work at Christ's Haven.
