Is your child's program missing positive reinforcement?  If so, ask yourself "How many people would work without a paycheck?"  If you need to spice things up a bit, try a new reward system.  Younger or lower processing children will often perform well for hugs and tickles.  Once the processing goes up, finding motivating reinforcement may get a little more expensive, but is well worth it.  Some families enjoy a point or token system that can be traded for favorite items.   For young guys you can have a "program store" full of carnival toys or favorite toys.  For children a little farther along, points towards gift cards to their favorite stores work well.  Search for creative ways to reward your children and you will find that your work with them is magnified because their intensity is increased.
