April 2012                                                              Issue 1

Greetings!

When most people hear about using press releases and public relations to help build business in federal contracting, they cock their head to the side and get a confused look and usually utter "huh?" And no wonder, for very few companies have cracked to code of using this very effective, low cost method to reach out and build business with existing customers as well as with prospective customers.

Even most PR professionals do not know how to tailor press releases and announcements to the federal market and instead use the tired old approach that screams "I do not understand this market!"

When we (here at TargetGov) talk about the concept of press releases and public relations, we mean a very specific process that fits like a glove in this unique market. We don't mean sending out a typical press packet to local newspapers and publications, but rather, writing a newsworthy document that fits the federal market exactly and is sent to only a very specific group of people who are interested in the topic.

Companies who use this process successfully have seen doors open with decision-makers at all levels. But there are unwritten rules about this process and if you attend the webinar on Monday April 23rd, you will learn what the do's and don'ts are and how to see positive results at a very low cost.

A few years ago, I created the now widely used (even by federal agencies themselves!) Capability Statement template to perfectly fit the federal government business market. It has been adopted agency-wide and we are recognized as the national Capability Statement experts. Now, we have done the same thing by adding writing very effective press releases and public relations to the federal marketing process.

If you are ready to think out of the box and learn something that will be very effective, attend the webinar on April 23rd. I look forward to helping you see results!

 Here's to your success!
