Greetings!
They say it is all about relationships. What does that really mean, and how does it translate into building business? For major purchases, we all prefer to do business with people we know and trust. Or, at the least, with companies we know and trust. Think about the last major purchase you made; did you hand over your hard-earned money without doing some research, without asking around, without reading reviews, without meeting or talking to a real live person first?
Companies and government agencies operate the same way because their buying decisions are made by people just like you and me, and these people also like to do business with people they know and trust.
In the government, there is also a very compelling reason: contracting and acquisition decision-makers have a legal responsibility to NOT make a risky buy; they can even risk going to jail if they do not follow all of the rules and regulations mandating the process. Corporate decision-makers can risk losing their job, therefore getting to know these decision-makers and having them recognize (and trust) you is the real test of success today.
Developing that relationship is a process, with successful ones usually developed over time. This "time" will involve various touches including public event such as conferences, networking, vendor outreach and matchmaking sessions. It will also include personal contacts through emails, phone calls and one-on-one meetings. It requires effort, stamina and consistent professionalism.
We are happy to help you thorough this entire relationship-building process and we have our next webinar coming up in April that addresses a very special aspect of this relationship-building process that only the most successful vendors currently use.
It is, curiously enough one of the least-expensive processes, and one of the most effective tools to use---it is a client-specific public relations process. I will share with you how to use this process in a very targeted way to reach out to the decision-makers and help build those solid-gold relationships. I hope you can make it--it includes fresh ideas that few people know about.
Here's to your great success!
