Greetings!

Traveling the US to talk with companies about building their business in the federal market has its perks. Yes, this week has been non-stop work, but last week at least I had a number of great meetings in Tampa, and also enjoyed the luxury of at least looking outside to Florida sunshine, palm trees and blue water and breathing fresh, moist non-heated air. Back in the DC area today and out to Boston, back to DC and then Connecticut this week.

What am I seeing in the every day, non-politics infused business world? Business is growing for those who have their sights set on success for 2012. While you may hear all of the politicians spinning the economy to fit their message, we are seeing business people quietly working smart, building relationships, winning contracts and hiring.

Yes there is indeed a NEW Normal, and during last week's teleconference we heard from the experts at Bloomberg Government and GovWin what to expect. Federal contracting law experts from Reid Law filled us in on legislative impact and a Jacoby sales expert focused on what the markets demands now. I had the benefit of all of that expertise, and so can you. Are you ready to be an economy-building leader?

SBA Administrator Elevated to Cabinet-Level Position

President Obama recently announced his decision to elevate the head of the SBA,Karen Mills, to a cabinet level position. This announcement came along with the proposal to combine the SBA with 5 other government offices. This announcement was met with applause from small business owners present on Friday.
