What Are People Saying About the TargetGov Experience?

The entire experience was first-rate!  G. Zelitzky
The best part is having the ease of taking part in the teleconference no matter where I had to be that day.  A. Tsakanikas

The teleconference was absolutely "outstanding"
The tool kit as well as yours and Beth's comments were excellent !
Teleconferencing is far more efficient and much less expensive than the alternative.
Thank you,
 J. Whitworth

I think the teleconference format is very convenient...in fact, I actually listened to one of the conferences while driving back from a meeting with Army representative.  Registering and attending is always super easy. R. Alexander

Was impressed with the registration process. Getting the toolkit link was easy. Download was easy.  Dialing in was flawless. Very easy process.  Name withheld as requested

Registration was easy, conference was valuable.  I'll definitely attend other ones.
M. Creager

Greetings!

The recent news has been very interesting for business people selling in the federal market. Parity was restored for all small businesses, women finally have a real 5% procurement rule, simplified acquisition thresholds increased, subcontracting requirements changed, and a top federal contractor (GTSI) was suspended from all federal contracting because of allegedly using small businesses as a pass-through vehicle.

Heads rolled (figuratively of course) at GTSI with the CEO/President and  senior VP/general counsel resigning.

I will go on record to say that it is about time. Ethical people everywhere should be  talking about this and then walking the talk: not playing the pass-through game. Refusing to make the fast buck that tarnishes everyone involved and mocks the hard work by legitimate small businesses.

This country has suffered from the "make money at all cost" attitude long enough. You have the power in your pen, pocket, wallet and purse. Refuse to work with people who promise the fast buck and offer nothing of value in return. Refuse to team with them. Refuse to subcontract to them. Refuse to buy their products, use their services, or refer them to others.

Granted, the SBA has now lifted the ban on GTSI, and for the employees, that is good thing because maybe they can keep their jobs. Maybe the big shots being gone will make the difference. I hope so.

In the meantime, I would say that every one of those contracts under investigation should, right now, be recompeted with only legitimate small businesses eligible as was originally intended. That is the fair thing to do. It is the right thing to do.

Stand up, be heard, be counted. And by the way, vote on Nov 2. Vote red, blue or tea, just get out and vote. It is your duty, along with your right.

As always, here's to your success!

Taller, shorter, thinner, not so thin....

size

Studies have always tried to determine whether physical appearance really makes a difference in the workplace.  According to a new study that examined more than 20,000 German and American workers, very thin women-defined as weighing 25 pounds less than the group average-earned some $15,572 over their average-weight peers. And women weighing 25 pounds more than average earned $13,847 less.   The study found that the opposite was true for men, where heftier males earned more than their thinner counterparts. In one study, the highest pay point, on average, was reached for guys who weighed a strapping 207 pounds.

  CONGRESSIONAL FUNDING UPDATE
Congress approved a temporary Continuing Resolution (CR) on September 29th to fund all agencies of the federal government through December 3, 2010.  The CR was necessary because Congress has not yet passed any of the 12 bills necessary to fund the government for Fiscal Year 2011, which began October 1.  Congress will take up the FY2011 appropriations bills when it reconvenes in November.
