Are you a sheep or an eagle?

There are two ways to look at the economy in relation to your business. I call them the Sheep and Eagle approaches to business development.

If you want to buy into the "woe is me, business is bad" mindset, feel free to because you have a lot of company. You can hear the call of this group all over the land: "Business is baaaadddddd."

There are great herds of these commiserating sheep milling around with no clear plan. Instead, these folks stop business development, stop marketing themselves and their business, cut costs to the core, and wait it out. They may or may not make it, but if they do, they better be sure-footed sheep, because they will have a huge mountain to climb to regain their business foothold and rebuild their market share.

The eagles, on the other hand, invest the energy and time to soar even higher and take a wider look at the entire market, assess where their efforts will give them the best results and then zero in on the most likely targets.

The eagles then commit themselves with certainty knowing that their efforts have an excellent chance of resulting in business. They take the plunge, snag the business, reinvest in more targeted marketing and business development and proactively grow their market share.

A wonderful thing about this is that, right now, you can choose to be either an eagle or a sheep. Contact us today, we'd like to show you how much better the view is from the eagle's perspective!

Here's to your success!

Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP), the nation's largest bi-partisan group of women in business, applauds strong action taken by the Senate Appropriations Committee to halt implementation of the Small Business Administration's (SBA) proposed rule on women's procurement programs. The Committee, which appropriates funding for federal agencies, included a prohibition on funding the proposed rule's implementation in the Financial Services Appropriations for Fiscal Year 2009.

U.S. Innovation is Strong - with Federal Help

Social Security Administration

Today's innovation is not your father's-or your grandfather's---innovation. The way that new products, services, and technologies emerge has changed. A new study sponsored by the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation analyzes decades of data with interesting results. One major finding is that the role of Federal investments in supporting innovations has grown rapidly.
