Carpe diem!
When a celebrity dies, it is news by virtue of their celebrity status. When that person also is intelligent, hard-working, feisty, fun-loving, dynamic, nice, and treats others with respect, we stop and honor their being on this Earth with us. We thank Tim Russert for his work, and this week, we learned that many people were also grateful for his friendship. Would that we are so fondly remembered by even a tiny fraction of the people when we leave this world. That is a true measure of success as a human being; and it is apparent that he was a unparalleled success.
With that sobering thought, I challenge you to go out there today, show someone kindness, work a bit smarter, do something fun, call and ask after a friend; reach out to others and be the kind of human being that you want to be remembered for.
All the best,
Gloria Berthold Larkin
