Greetings!
|
Thank you for the warm welcome to the Chamber. I appreciate your patience and support as I settle into my new position as manager. These first few weeks have been busy, attending networking events, getting new members signed up and helping with the new Local Business Guide. One of my goals is to have the Chamber use social media marketing to promote our members. The Chamber now has a Facebook page, so please be sure to have your business "like" us so you can see what's happening at the Chamber. We are also in the process of renovating our website, which will debut this fall with the Local Business Guide becoming our online business directory. As manager, I am here to promote connections between Chamber members and the community. If you have any ideas or suggestions, I would love to hear them. My office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 11am -1pm. I am located on the second floor of Jefferson Cutterson House, above the Cyrus Dallin Museum, so feel free to stop by. Best, Jenn Tripp Manager, Arlington Chamber of Commerce T: 781.643.4600 E-mail:info@arlcc.org

| Chamber Connections In Action! |
The Young Adult Vocational Program has been a member of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce for the past eight years. Through our attendance at events, Chamber Members became aware of the desire of our young adults to work. Through creating partnerships we began matching the interests, skills and career goals of young adults to the needs of the Chamber and local businesses. Here are a few of the ways we have partnered with the Chamber and their members:
- A YAVP young adult helped meet and greet Chamber members at events and we recently collaborated with Chamber Board member Cathy Zolner of Norish to Flourish to set up and break down tables for the Chamber's 3/24 Constant Contact event at the Arlington Town Hall.
- Partnering with Watertown Savings Bank, Senior Vice President Randall Buck has hired our young adults to water the Arlington Square Planters.
- Removal of debris from Big Foot Moving Co. property on an on-going basis, Mike has since hired a young adult to work part time with his team.
- Internship experience on site with owner Craig Rabe of the Computer Café and with Robbins Library.
- Gemma Ristorante hired a young adult from YAVP to work in their kitchen.
If you have any work project that we may be able to assist, please contact me at rthomas@eliotchs.org or catch up with me at a future Chamber event. We appreciate the role of the Chamber in helping us make these important connections to the Arlington Business Community. See you all soon.
