A Taste of Arlington

As 300 attendees discovered, what better way to explore Arlington's dining scene than to sample from 15 of our very own showcased restaurants, eateries and food establishments. A Taste of Arlington event held on Tuesday October 25th at Arlington Town hall was a resounding success. A celebration of cuisine and culture that shone a light on Arlington's diversity and prominence as a first-class dining destination and gave us all the opportunity to sample all the savory morsels and sweet desserts on offer.
We want to take this opportunity to again thank all of our sponsors and 'Taste' participants for their community spirit and generosity in providing the delicious fare for the event. We hope that you'll support these local businesses by becoming regular patrons. A Taste of Arlington is much more than a great evening - it's supporting a vibrant, local and sustainable 'foodie' scene in our community.

Women of Excellence Award

Each year at this breakfast, Women of Excellence and Rising Star awards are given to outstanding women who have made substantial contributions toward advancing the well-being of girls.
Rising Stars are women in the earlier stages of their careers who have shown leadership and accomplishment in fields that positively affect the lives of young women. They may work for non-profit organizations, in the public sector, or in the corporate world in areas that address young women's needs.
Women of Excellence and Rising Stars must be present to receive their award.

Center for Cancer Support & Education is holding a bowlathon on Saturday November 5, 2011.
The bowlathon is a combination of a bowling night, fundraiser and costume party where teams of bowlers raise funds for the Center for Cancer Support & Education ahead of time and then join us for an evening of pizza, bbq, soda, ice cream, and bowling. There are prizes awarded for bowling skills, fundraising amounts, and costumes. It is an all ages, from 6- 106, event from 7-10 pm at Ryan Family Amusements in Malden. We are seeking teams of bowlers to help us raise funds for the Center and join us for a fun evening. SCORE Counselors to America's Small Business is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneurial education and the formation, growth and success of small businesses nationwide.
A SCORE counselor comes to the Arlington Chamber's office on the first Wednesday of every month to meet with Chamber members for confidential one-hour consultations.

We are pleased to announce our expanded relations with Health Service Administrators (HSA). HSA is offering our members the One Resource Solution for their health insurance needs.
We are continuing to progress our health insurance Group Purchasing Cooperative application, and hope to have more news for you soon. In the interim we have implemented this handy new tool. Check it out and let us know what you think.
