 Each year at this breakfast, Women of Excellence and Rising Star awards are given to outstanding women who have made substantial contributions toward advancing the well-being of girls. 

 

Rising Stars are women in the earlier stages of their careers who have shown leadership and accomplishment in fields that positively affect the lives of young women.  They may work for non-profit organizations, in the public sector, or in the corporate world in areas that address young women's needs. 

 

Women of Excellence and Rising Stars must be present to receive their award.

Center for Cancer Support & Education is holding a bowlathon on Saturday November 5, 2011.

The bowlathon is a combination of a bowling night, fundraiser and costume party where teams of bowlers raise funds for the Center for Cancer Support & Education ahead of time and then join us for an evening of pizza, bbq, soda, ice cream, and bowling. There are prizes awarded for bowling skills, fundraising amounts, and costumes. It is an all ages, from 6- 106, event from 7-10 pm at Ryan Family Amusements in Malden. SCORE Counselors to America's Small Business is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneurial education and the formation, growth and success of small businesses nationwide.

A SCORE counselor comes to the Arlington Chamber's office on the first Wednesday of every month to meet with Chamber members for confidential one-hour consultations.

Chamber members are invited to attend a collaborative discussion about economic development in Arlington, October 19, 2011, between 7pm and 10pm, in the main auditorium, Town Hall. The discussion will focus on eliciting information for Northeastern University's Economic Development Self-Assessment Tool. The ultimate goal of the discussion is to produce a comparative analysis of Arlington's economic development readiness. The comparison is based on survey responses of business location experts from across the country, and will identify Arlington's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges.
