MWRA Construction in Arlington Center Resumes May 9

Final restoration of Phase 3 work in Arlington Center, involving landscaping, new trees, sidewalk repairs, and paving, is scheduled to begin May 9. Completion is expected by the end of May. All businesses within the area will be open and accessible during construction. There may be travel lane, parking, and some sidewalk restrictions. There are no planned water shut offs during this phase. This is the final phase of the rehabilitation of this pipeline, which was constructed in 1899 and provides suction to the Brattle Court Pump Station in Arlington.  You can read more about all phases of work, including a detailed schedule, maps, and any future updates on the MWRA website.

Construction on I-93 Begins March 14, Into Summer

This summer, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will replace 14 deteriorated bridge superstructures on Interstate 93 in the city of Medford, MA. The superstructure replacements that are the core of the 93 Fast 14 project will take place on weekends in June, July and August (except for the 4th of July). This plan avoids impacting weekday rush-hour traffic. Beginning Monday, March 14th, work crews will begin construction activities. MassDOT will post project updates, including overnight lane restrictions that are scheduled for next week at www.93fast14.com.
