A Successful "Soular Mixer" |
|
This event was the first charity event or event in general that most of our organizerers had participated in before and it turned out to be a great success. Our venue, Viente y Aqua, was packed are worked out well. Our learning experience raised approximately $3,500 through a silent auction, raffle, t-shirt and water bottle sales, and general donations during the three and a half hour event. There will be more opportunities to get involved and donate soon.

The goal is to raise enough money for the installation of a small solar electric system on a school in rural Nicaragua. Electricty is scarce and infreaquent. Have a building with consistant electricty will enable the whole community to better themselves.
THANK YOU to all of those you who were able to make it and especially to those who donated your product or services.
Click below if you'd like to donate $10 to this charity?

Funds will go directly to me, Evan, and forwarded to the appropriate source until we have something more official set-up. I'll email you a receipt with the non-profit information so you can write it off and avoid a little unconstitutional income tax.

Costa Mesa :: "Green" Building |
| On January 9th, 2008, the City of Costa Mesa launched a new program that offers fee waivers for green installation and express Planning and Building Division Plan checks through June 30th, 2008. Hopefully, the program will be renewed and replicated by all Orange County Cities.

ASES National Solar Tour |
|
The ASES National Solar Tour is the largest solar energy event in the world. Last year more than 115,000 attendees visited some 5,000 buildings in 2,900 participating communities. Now in its 13th year, this event is coordinated nationally by the nonprofit American Solar Energy Society. It takes place annually during the first Saturday in October in conjunction with National Energy Awareness Month.
I'm organizing a tour in Costa Mesa at the moment. It's still in the planning phase, so if you're aware of any homeowners that would like to add their home to the tour or get involved, please have them contact me.
I've created a basic blog/web-site that can be used as a reference or be forwarded to others that may be interested.

SolarCity Seminars in Orange County |
SolarCity is one of the leading installers of solar electric panels in the Country and has created quite a buzz with their new, zero money down, leasing program.
SolarCity will be hosting FREE solar seminars this month in Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa and Mission Viejo as well as many others in neighboring counties. Electric Vehicle non-profit, Plug-in America, has also teamed up with them on these events to help promote solar energy. I will also have some space to promote my grassroots efforts and real estate services.
