New Membership Program Launching!

Spring program
This week we are launching a new membership program. Our first quarterly newsletter in over two years will be in the mail this week and will include a membership brochure. Anyone not on our regular mailing list can view the newsletter here to keep up with our activities.

You can also become a member by visiting our membership page. Thanks to a challenge grant by the Frey Foundation, O'Donovan Foundation, and anonymous donors, your membership gift will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $25,000.

Wildlife Education Center Comes Closer to Meeting Challenge Grant

Kestrel
Thank you to all of you for proving how much our Wildlife Education and Rehab Center means to you. After an anonymous donor came forward with a $15,000 challenge grant to help underwrite the Wildlife Center for one year (which costs $33,000 at a part-time level), we have had $6,643 in donations come in. We only need $8,357 to earn the remaining match dollars available. Please consider a special donation today.

Garlic Mustard Pull
Thank you to the ten brave volunteers who came on a cold and wet Saturday to help pull the invasive species Garlic Mustard from our trails in conjunction with the statewide pull. This invasive species will squeeze out our native wildflowers. Our volunteers removed 1,500 pounds in just four hours! C.A. Frost Students removed another 1,500 pounds over the last week. We enjoyed a taste of Garlic Mustard pesto afterward, thanks to Kristin Tindall!

Wildflower Walk with Mary Jane Dockeray
Saturday, May 22nd from 2-3pm

Come take a walk on the wildflower side with Blandford founder Mary Jane Dockeray! Explore the beauty of spring while hunting for some of Michigan's favorite floral personalities.

Volunteer Training
Also on May 22nd, we'll have our historical buildings open and will be training interpreters. If interested, contact peta@blandfordnaturecenter.org.
