Events of crisis proportion are spinning faster and faster and faster: Earthquakes; tornadoes; hurricanes; floods; wars and rumors of wars; terrorism; deception in and out of the church; road rage and every other kind of rage; a looming, worldwide economic collapse; UFO sightings; the threat of nuclear holocaust . . .
What in the world is going on?
Jan -- seriously -- has been waiting 'til the last minute to finalize our speaker schedule and message titles as we watch the breaking news out of the United Nations. "Palestinian" President Mahmoud Abbas is stubbornly insisting that a Palestinian State be mandated by the United Nations and, in that unfortunate event, all-out war in the Middle East is a probable result.
These are troubling -- and yet exciting -- times indeed.
You would be a rare individual to not have some questioning thoughts on world events and how they will impact you. We are planning to provide you with scriptural answers to those queries swirling around in your head at our 2011 Understanding the Times conference which is almost upon us! We have an amazing line-up of speakers this year who will be covering some riveting topics:

This year Joel speaks from his work in the Middle East as well as his communication with heads of government and military complexes in many countries of the world -- especially Israel and the United States. His message to us -- delivered in two parts -- will be:
"The Day of the Lord Is Coming: Why God Is Shaking Israel and the Nations" White House Correspondant Bill Koenig is always a much-anticipated speaker at our conferences. Bill pretty much has his hand on the pulse of happenings in the White House and internationally when it comes to the rise of global government, Israel, Iran and the whole Middle East scenario. But he has other important information regarding up-to-the-minute goings-on in our world concerning Israel and America. Bill is Jan's radio guest this weekend (October 1-2). "The White House Role in Accelerating Final Day Events"  Our Christian apologist this year is Eric Barger, who has spoken at a couple of our past conferences; hosted last year's Understanding the Times conference with our board Vice Chair Eric Douma; and whose ministry focus is cults, world religions, the occult, spiritual warfare and the Emergent Church -- just for starters. This year Eric will address a grave concern within the "Christian" community: the blending of Christianity and Islam. Eric's message is entitled:
"The Deception of Chrislam" Brannon Howse is the founder of American Family Policy  Institute and, is the show host for Worldview Weekend television and radio. Brannon's passion is communicating a biblical worldview to the Church and he has done so through his many books, DVDs and conference appearances, in addition to his own Worldview Weekend conference series. His popular book, Grave Influence, leaves the reader with little doubt that there has been a planned agenda to dumb down not just America, but society at large in preparation for the one-world government the Bible plainly says in coming. Brannon will speak on:
"The Components of the Religious Trojan Horse"
Finally, a man we heard speak for the first time  at Understanding the Times 2010 whose messages were appreciated by everyone: Pastor Mark Hitchcock. Mark has a handle on what the Word of God has to say about the future: prophecy. We like to hear what Mark has to say when we see our world spinning out of control, because he assures us, via Scripture, that things only appear to be spinning out of control. God is in control of it all! Mark is also Jan's radio guest this weekend (October 1-2). The programming is posted to our Web site at "radio archives" Sunday. Mark's message this year will be:
"Will the World Really End in 2012? If Not, What's Next?" Last, and surely not least, Caryl Matrisciana will introduce volume 2 of her film series, Wide is the Gate: The Emerging New Christianity. This is not out until 2012. Wonder what on earth is happening in our churches today? Get volume one here. Volume one is almost four hours. Find a trailer here. We will also have multiple Q & A sessions. If you don't yet have plans to join us, I sure hope you'll consider coming. Although we'd love to have you for the whole conference, if you can only stay for part of the event, we'd love to have you for that part!
