HTC Celebrates at 89th Annual Banquet
|
On November 22, 2011, HTC held its 89th annual banquet at the Westin O'Hare Hotel. HTC celebrated the 50th anniversary of Fasman Yeshiva High School. Since its inception, FYHS has served over 2000 students as the premier Yeshiva High School in the Midwest.
The Rabbinic Leadership Award was presented to Rabbi Benjamin Shandalov, an HTC Musmach of 1959, who served as the Assistant Dean of Students from 1973-1981. Rabbi Shandalov also served as the Kashruth Administrator of the Chicago Rabbinical Council, leading Chicago's kashruth agency to new levels.
The Distinguished Alumnus Award was presented to Rabbi Dr. Edward Reichman, a class of 1981 FYHS alumnus from Milwaukee, who earned his Bachelor of Arts from Yeshiva University and Semicha from RIETS. HTC is extremely proud of Rabbi Dr. Reichman's accomplishments in the field of Jewish medical ethics. Rabbi Dr. Reichman, an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, lectures worldwide on the topic of Jewish Medical Ethics. He and his wife Sara, a psychologist in private practice, live in Woodmere, NY, with their four children.

New York Alumni Benefit Reception a Huge Success! |
On Monday, October 31, alumni and friends gathered at the home of Jeremy and Chani Goldfeder in Hewlett, NY, to celebrate Fasman Yeshiva High School's 50 years and to pay tribute to Hebrew Theological College. Nearly 50 guests were in attendance as Rabbi Avraham Friedman, Rosh HaYeshiva, delivered a Dvar Torah, and Rabbi Dr. Jerold Isenberg, Chancellor, welcomed the crowd. A special presentation was made by this year's Distinguished Alumnus Honoree, Rabbi Dr. Edward Reichman. Rabbi Dr. Reichman spoke about cutting edge medical science and ethical issues from a Halachic perspective. HTC thanks Jeremy and Chani Goldfeder for hosting this special evening as well as Ram Catering for their delicious buffet spread. Thank you to all who attended, for your continued support of HTC and Fasman Yeshiva High School.

HTC Mourns the Loss of HaRav HaGaon Nosson Tzvi Finkel zt"l |

A Shloshim Memorial was held on December 8, 2011, to mourn the loss of HaRav Nosson Tzvi Finkel, an alumnus of our Yeshiva and one of the greatest builders of Torah in our generation. Rav Finkel zt"l loved and treated every talmid like his own child and every Jew like his brother.

Class of 1971 Reunion |
In November, 2011, the class of 1971 held its 40-year reunion. Classmates from across the country gathered to relive their Yeshiva experiences. The class was privileged to welcome Rabbi Yosef Blau, former FYHS rebbe and principal who now serves as the Mashgiach Ruchani at Yeshiva University. The weekend festivities included an Oneg Shabbos, a Motzo'ei Shabbos Melave Malka with special guests, Mr. Richard Saltzman and Mr. Gerald Koppel, and a Sunday morning shiur and brunch with Rabbi Blau.

Class of 2001 Reunion

In June, 2011 the FYHS class of 2001 held its ten-year reunion. The weekend festivities included a Friday night Oneg Shabbos at the home of Rabbi and Mrs. Yosef Polstein, a Shabbos lunch at Congregation Adas Yeshurun, and a Sunday morning brunch and tour at the Yeshiva. The class was greeted by their former Rabbeim and administrators.
