Greetings!
Focus does not come easily or naturally to most of us, but without it we run the risk of living scattered and mediocre lives. Because I wear so many hats, I struggle everyday trying to decide between what is urgent and what is truly important. Many times I have run around trying to get so much done, and finding out at the end of the day that I missed doing the real important tasks.

In order to be effective, we must be selective in our focus. The power of focus can be seen in light. With a magnifying glass the rays of the sun can set paper on fire. But when the light is focused  even more as a laser beam, it can cut through steel. The men and women who make the most difference in life are the most focused. If you want your life to have impact, focus it.

Focus is a discipline that must be practiced every day. Here are a few things I do to stay focused.
  • Write lists and prioritize based on importance
  • Turn away from even good activities and do what matters most
  • Remember that doing less and doing it well is a good thing.
Quick & Easy Recipes!
Brown Rice & Thai Simmer Sauce
Thai Simmer Sauce
I discovered this sauce at Trader Joes and really love it. You can smell the cilantro and the coconut milk in it, yum.  It is mildly spicy.
This recipe can be customized to suit you taste. To learn more about benefits of Brown Rice, read this

Ingredients
  • 4 Cups Brown Rice
  • 10 Cups water
  • 1 lb Ground Turkey
  • 1/ 6 Cup Olive Oil
  • 1 med size Onion
  • 2 cloves fresh Garlic
  • Thai Simmer Sauce
Use a heavy non stick saucepan with a lid. Sautee onions and garlic in olive oil. Rinse brown rice and stir into saute. Add approx ½ jar or more of simmer sauce and stir. Cover pan for approx 5-8 minutes to make sure rice has absorbed all the seasonings. Put water in another pot to boil. Add boiling water to rice. Stir and cover pot. Cook on med heat for about 1 hour and stir every 10 minutes. Meal is ready when rice is soft.
