A beautiful fall morning. The cold front from Friday morning brought in a new batch of birds. Always beautiful and challenging to have some warblers around. Get out and see those fall migrants coming through!

Bird of the Day

Townsend's Warbler

Townsend's Warbler

Today's bird was a real toss-up for me. We probably had the best show from the Western Wood-Pewees, and our rarest bird was the Broad-winged Hawk. Honorable mention goes to all the swallows, but I loved seeing the warblers, even if it was only briefly. The images from this morning are of an eclipse plumage drake mallard taken by Neal Zahn and a western wood-pewee taken by Steve Frye.
