House Parties
Friends and supporters of Urban Ed, we need your help raising funds! In the spirit of creativeness we are asking those of you that entertain to have a party on our behalf. So what are we asking exactly? For you to host at least one house party during 2012 to support Urban Ed. This could be a dinner gathering, cookout, wine tasting, birthday party, whatever you do to entertain we ask that you put out a "donation bowl" on behalf of Urban Ed! This is an easy and creative way to support the work we do without leaving your house! If you are interested and would like some brochures or postcards to have available with your "donation bowl" or need additional info just let us know. Call or email Violet Browne at vbrowne@urbaned.org, phone 202.610.2344 or click here for more House Party Info. Thanks for helping out!

Presenters Needed
Urban Ed needs presenters to do mini workshops with our teens. As we work to build leadership skills and expose our teens to a number of "life" topics we are looking for people external to Urban Ed to come and share your expertise with our youth. Topics are widespread so whatever you are skilled at or passionate about you can present on! Things such as careers, peer pressure, banking and budgeting, college planning, drug abuse, resumes and cover letters, poetry slams, yoga, community oranizing, conflict resolution, workplace expectations or visits to your place of work are just a few ideas for speakers. We are also open to your ideas as well. The more we can expose our teens to the better, so please consider coming by one evening between 5 PM - 6:30 PM to enlighten our youth or we can come to you. Sessions are only about 30 minutes plus Q&A with our teens. For additional questions and info contact Ms. Sahja-Raeanna Elliott at 202-610-2344 or email at selliott@urbaned.org.
