The price on Grange has been as low as
$300 in 2009 and higher than $500 a bottle in some stores. The only time Grange wine maker, Peter Gago,
has visited the Mid-Atlantic region of the USA, in recent years, was for a
special tasting organized by our wine buyer, Peter Finkelstein. Our buyer has now used his special contacts
to secure a very rare allocation and a truly unheard of price for Mills'
Customers Only!
The Wine Advocate has
not yet rated the 2005 Vintage but just consider all the years before this with
ratings up to 100 Points and 99's on several occasions. Wine
Spectator has given it a 94. Take a look at the scores from Parker on Grange going back more than 20 Years, including an incredible 100 Point Score!

Bordeaux Seconds
|
Lets
talk value for a few minutes.
Appellation Controlee won't allow the best Bordeaux Chateaux to release all the wines
they produce under their primary label.
The Chateaux create different labels and/or buy different smaller
Chateaux they can incorporate into their program. Right now these "Super Seconds" represent the
most interesting Bordeaux
Values. Mills has acquired the rights to
11 "Super Seconds all of them under $40.

Chateau Ducla 2007 Entre-Deux Mers
|
For 15 years I was the US Vice President of Yvon Mau Wines. At the time, it was the second largest Bordeaux House and has
since been sold to Freixenet . The Mau
family, however, retained all their own
Chateaux and Ducla is their crown jewel.
Ducla is at the peak of modern wine making. There is no question but that it is the very
best Entre-Deux Mers each and every year.
The wine is bright and full of fruit.
That it can be purchased for only $10.39 is excellent.
For years Ducla has been the Official White Wine test facility
for the Institute Oenologique du talence.
(This is to France as
UC Davis is to California!) Ducla was the Official White Wine for France's
200th birthday celebration. Ducla was
the only dry white EVER allowed to use Cryo-Extraction as an experiment. Ducla was the very first estate to use
Sauvignon Gris as a blending grape by design.
All of this under the eye of Emil Peynaud, Wine Director of the
Institute!
There used to be a significant amount available in the USA (I did a good job of selling it) but lately
it is really hard to find. We are
delighted at Mills to once again bring this great value to you!
