Book Signing for Greenville Author Kelly Lee Odom
 Greenville, SC, August 10, 2012 - Greenville author Kelly Lee Odom will be signing copies of his new book Greenville's Augusta Road (Arcadia, paperback, $21.99),
at Fiction Addiction on Saturday, September 8th,
from 2-4pm.
Augusta Road was constructed in the 1830s as a trade route between Greenville, South Carolina, and Augusta, Georgia. Through Greenville's textile boom, Augusta Road was transformed from a series of farms owned by some of Greenville's forefathers to the city's first suburb and home to the South's first retail shopping center. Today, Augusta Road continues to be a destination point because of its unique shopping district, and is a desirable area for living and raising a family. Augusta Road residents include nationally known politicians and entertainers.
About the author:
Author Kelly Lee Odom was raised in the Augusta Road area and worked in his family's pharmacy, The Pickwick, of which he is now a third-generation owner along with his brother. Odom has spent his adult life promoting and preserving the area he lives in and has served on boards of various civic organizations, including as secretary of the Greenville County Historic Preservation Commission, vice president of the Greenville County Historical Society, and president of the Augusta Road Business Association.
