Book Signing for Georgia Cookbook Author Aletia DuPree

Delicously SouthernGreenville, SC, April 10, 2012 - Georgia cookbook author Aletia DuPree will be signing copies of her new cookbook, Deliciously Southern: Southern Recipes and a Tour of the South (Aletia DuPree Moon, hardcover, $24.99), at Fiction Addiction on Thursday, May 10th, from 12-2pm.

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Or, as in the case of Aletia DuPree, the former owner of North Georgia landmark BJ's Restaurant, you can make delicious Southern recipes. After a devastating fire and the simultaneous crumbling of the economy in 2008 forced her to close the restaurant she'd owned for 21 years, she embarked on a long-time dream to write a Southern cookbook. She used the restaurant's most beloved recipes, along with a collection of family favorites and treasured recipes from around the South, to write Deliciously Southern.

Deliciously Southern captures the very heart of Southern cooking, with its more than 370 recipes taking readers on a journey into the kitchens and dining rooms of some of the best cooks found in Texas, Tennessee, the Carolinas, and Georgia. While some dishes are reminiscent of Sunday Dinner at Grandma's house, others come from some of the finest restaurants in the country. This easy-to-read cookbook also features popular Southern staples like Loaded Baked Potato Soup and Baked Macaroni and Cheese. And of course, no Southern cookbook would be complete without a tantalizing selection of glorious desserts. To wash it all down, Aletia has also included refreshing recipes for classic Southern Sweet Iced Tea, Fresh Peach Punch, and Old-Fashioned Lemonade.

Woven throughout the book, Ms. DuPree shares helpful cooking tips that read like notes from a friend - personal heartwarming stories of growing up in the South, family gatherings, church suppers, and old-fashioned Sunday dinners.

Passionate about her Southern roots and the people of home, Aletia DuPree's Deliciously Southern celebrates all that is Southern - rich culture, deep traditions, incredible food, and unmistakably warm hospitality.

Aletia DuPreeAletia DuPree is a fresh new voice from the South. Born and raised in Georgia, her first book, Deliciously Southern, is the culmination of Aletia's decades of knowledge of Southern cooking that was inspired by four generations of genteel ladies of the South - including her great-grandmother, her mother, and her aunt - who taught her to cook and bake. Eventually that love and passion for Southern food led her into the restaurant business, where she worked for over 21 years. The former restauranteur is now a speaker, cooking instructor, contributing food editor for the NW Georgia Living Magazine, and editor of the online food blog Southern Life, where she writes about the art of Southern hospitality, culture, and cuisine. Aletia lives with her family in Calhoun, Georgia.

If you cannot make the signing, you can reserve a personalized copy of Deliciously Southern by contacting Fiction Addiction in advance at 864-675-0540 or at info@fiction-addiction.com.
