Book Signing for Upstate SC Author Suzanne Strange

Weavers of the Crystal DomesGreenville, SC, January 2, 2012 - Upstate South Carolina author Suzanne Strange will be signing copies of her debut novel, Weavers of the Crystal Dome (iUniverse, paperback, $11.95), at Fiction Addiction on Saturday, January 28th, from 1-3pm. The book is suitable for young adult and adult readers.

By the 22nd century, human heedlessness and natural disasters have led to a world where the air is unsafe to breathe, the soil will grow nothing but kudzu, and wars will never end. Crowded together in domed communitites, growing food in greenhouses, and living under martial law, people go about their lives, working at their jobs and caring for their families while striving to make the world a better place for their children.

Hundreds of young volunteers come together for a dome-raising project in South Carolina. It's love at first sight for 17-year-old Michael Travis when he sees a graceful weaver floating lightly in her antigravity belt above the giant dome. When he learns that she was born on the far side of the Moon, he is determined to meet her and share his dreams of living on Mars.

More than a tale of survival, Weavers of the Crystal Domes is a salute to the resilience and ingenuity of our species, a coming-of-age story set in the world of the future. It is the first book in the Kudzu Worlds series.

Suzanne StrangeSuzanne Strange has spent most of her life in Virginia, Georgia, and the Carolinas. As a child, she played in sandy driveways, dug red clay from creek banks, and crawled through pathways in the kudzu patch behind a neighbor's home. As an adult, she once returned from a three-week family vacation to discover that kudzu had stretched from a nearby vacant lot to twine around her front porch.

Suzanne admires kudzu for its tenacity and for the beauty it creates as it spreads a blanket of green over everything that is unable to move out of its way. She believes that kudzu is undervalued and has much potential for good.

The first book in her Kudzu Worlds series, Weavers of the Crystal Domes is a coming-of-age story set in Greenville County, South Carolina, which Ms. Strange feels will always be the best place in the world to live, no matter what changes the future brings.

If you cannot make the signing, you can reserve a personalized copy of Weavers of the Crystal Domes by contacting Fiction Addiction in advance at 864-675-0540 or at info@fiction-addiction.com.
