Eight months down...

It's hard to believe that we are bearing down on a new decade, the second in a new century and the stories Bill loved to tell are still timeless, holding steady in the hearts and minds of his readers and I am so blessed to be a part of it. Whether it's continuing his unfinished work or striking out new with my own, there are tales to be told about a time when things were simpler but still very much the same.   I wanted to take time this month to thank all of you for making the Johnstone name what it is, and to express my gratitude for your support and encouragement.

It is because of you that The Loner has almost completely sold out its first printing and The Devil's Badland is well on its way.  The September release of Dead Man's Gold is nearly upon us and the family and I are waiting anxiously, hoping that it will be as equally well-received.

The Loner: Dead Man's Gold!
The Loner: Dead Man's Gold J.A. Johnstone

Kid Morgan is still wandering, having taken his vengeance on those responsible for the death of his beloved Rebel, and he continues making his way through the West, choosing the life of a drifter instead of returning to the life of Conrad Browning.  But without a set plan or place, trouble always manages to find him.

The third release in The Loner series will hit the shelves this September and don't forget you can pre-order your copy through us by clicking the cover to your right!

NEW RELEASE! BLOODSHED OF EAGLES
Bloodshed of Eagles William W. JohnstoneFalcon MacCallister never thought he'd wear Army brass, but Colorado is about to join the Union - and the would-be state has just made him Lt. Colonel in its Home Guard.  Then, before his military career can take off, Falcon loses one of his men and two deadly new Gatling guns to a murderous ambush.

Tracing the guns to Eastern Montana, Falcon teams up with a scout named Isiah Dorman and for the two men, survival along the Little Bighorn is going to mean breaking rules, standing strong, standing together - and holding off a deadly onslaught with only a few guns against many.

AUGUST RE-RELEASE: D-DAY IN THE ASHES
D-Day in the Ashes William W. JohnstoneFirst the Liberals took all the guns.  Then they took away the people's freedom.  Now, Ben Raines and his patriot army are driving a weakened United States government into full-fledged retreat.  Emerging as an unstoppable force, the Southern States are winning over one strategic ally after another - all wanting to be part of a society based on law, justice and old-fashioned values enforced by the barrel of a gun.

But to be recognized by the world community, the Southern States of America must pay a price.  Raines and his army must engage in an all-out war of liberation in crime-ravaged  Europe to win the favor of the U.N...

I've received numerous emails from you this month due to the difficulty in finding The Loner and The Devil's Badland in various areas and unfortunately, we were only able to get a limited number of copies ourselves and have now completely run out. I encourage you to contact the Publisher (Kensington Publishing) and request that more copies of the book be made available - this is the soldieronly way we have of letting them know that there is a demand!

With so much going on this month with late Summer vacations and the Back To School rush, I hope you will all take time to sit back and enjoy the last few days of summer and don't forget that there are some across the world for whom the heat will not fade.

As always, and until next month.. Keep your powder dry.
