William W Johnstone and JA Johnstone
May is here - and so is The Loner!
J.A. Johnstone Kid Morgan
I've been mentioning in previous newsletters that a new series would be out soon. The first solo effort, The Loner, has now officially hit the shelves! We were thrilled at the opportunity Walmart gave us to get the name of J.A. Johnstone out there even further and we hope to be hearing some good words from all of you soon about Conrad Browning and his alter-ego, Kid Morgan. You can find copies of The Loner exclusively at Walmart or on our website.

If you've been stuck indoors with all the rain, like we have here in Tennessee, it may be a good time to check out this month's new releases and have a peek at some changes we've made to the website - including a new blog. As always, we welcome your thoughts and feedback!

Until next month...
Be safe and keep your powder dry!

Six Ways From Sunday
SIX WAYS FROM SUNDAY WILLIAM AND JA JOHNSTONE Cotton Pickens' parents had a cussed sense of humor, but there's nothing funny about the way the man can draw a gun. Now he's in the middle of a mining camp district slowly being crushed under the iron fist of another misnamed, hard headed fellow, Carter Scruples. With Cotton facing off against Scruples, a beautiful young woman caught in-between, and a band of outlaws living high and mighty in a dry-docked Pullman Palace Car, the town of Swamp Creek is surely going to get blown sky high.

Battle In The Ashes
BATTLE IN THE ASHES WILLIAM W JOHNSTONE Led by descendants of Hitler's Third Reich, 200,000 heavily armed and highly trained fascist soldiers are determined to spread their doctrine of evil across the free world.

Congratulations to R. Kimberling of California, our April Contest Winner.
Each month, we select a winner from all of the reviews, letters and comments we receive and this month we received a touching letter from R. Kimberling. Here is a brief excerpt:

..."To give you an idea of how they have helped these juveniles, some of these boys cannot read very well, if at all, or have never been exposed to books. and now they are coming to staff, asking for more books to read, because they just finished "Code of the Mountain Man" on my days off and want to start another book. Before, during reading time, it was hard enough to get them to read a ten page "Hank the Cowdog"(not that there is anything wrong with the book), and now they are enjoying 250+ page westerns."

Typically, we draw an entry at random, but this month I was so moved by his story, that we will be donating three copies of The Loner for the kids there to pass around and enjoy.
