Did summer just end? It was a great one! I don't think I have ever spent so much time at the beach, and sitting on my porch in the evening with a glass of wine and a good book. Now I will sit in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine and a good book. I need the feeling of warmth and a cozy place to sit even in the winter. Those of us who get a little moody when the sun isn't shining have a difficult time with the transition to fall. There are several types of therapy for SAD such as special lights, medication.... Or you can create a sense of excitement by starting a new project, taking a class that will feed your soul, have a vision. Mine was to travel again to Italy. I won't be moody this fall...

I am going to Tuscany!!   We leave on November 5 and return on the 13th. My daughter Carla from A Grape Affair has put together this wonderful adventure. I am so excited to be doing this with 16 fabulous people.  I know we can't all transition into fall so glamorously but here are some ideas to help make this Fall the best ever for yourself....BTW The Villa we are staying at was on my Vision Board!

  • Have a vision.
  • Start a new project.
  • Take a class.
  • Clear your clutter.
  • Redecorate a room.
  • Create a new personal image.
  • Do one nice thing for yourself everyday.
IF YOU CAN THINK IT, YOU CAN BE IT.

Create a fuller, richer life!!!

QAFashion Q & A

Q:   It is much more of a challenge to travel in the Winter. How can I have what I need and only do a carry on?
 A:
So glad you asked .. this is my specialty!

                    BE ORGANIZED.... HAVE A PLAN

  •  Are your prescriptions filled?  (pack in original contai
  • Check climate.........do you need layers?  It can be cold and sometimes rainy in Tuscany.
  •   Remember to check customs for the country you are traveling to.

WHAT TO TAKE....this is a guideline for both Men and Women.

Do a pie chart. Think about the activities on your trip, what clothes you will need for each?

    • Create a basic color scheme............choose 2 neutrals that can interchange with each other.  i.e.:  navy, white, or black and beige.
    • Lay out complete outfits...........add appropriate underwear and accessories.
    • Does everything coordinate?  Remove any pieces that don't match up with at least 2 other pieces.
    • Pick bottoms first.........2 pants , one skirt ( extra pant for men)
    • Tops should match at least 3 bottoms... 2 jackets in same neutrals, 3 blouse, and 2 sweaters, a basic dress in your neutrals.

HOW TO PACK IN ONE CARRY ON.... Folding, bundling, and rolling??

Folding or bundling are best done with tissue paper or dry cleaner plastic bags in between items

·        Rolling... I like this best, less wrinkles and a great space saver.

·        Folding... Take two or more garments, trousers, and lay half of one pair on top of the other. Fold the one on the bottom over the pair on top. Then take the other and fold on top. This gives each item some cushion where folded and less likely to wrinkle.

·        Bundling. This is best with a flat suitcase. Lay flat the heaviest item and alternate direction as you layer. At the end you have a bundle that unwraps. Put clothes you will wear first.

Pack the right fabrics. Worried about wrinkles? Remember, some fabrics travel better than others. You can purchase clothes made with travel in mind, but chances are there are items in your own closet that will do the trick. Pick knits over woven items, and opt for blended fabrics, especially those with a bit of spandex or polyester.

It is a great time to set new intentions. I always talk to my clients about how powerful it is to have a vision. How important it is t o know what it is and what it looks like.  I urge them to create a collage:  representing - very specifically - what they want for and in their life.  I have a dream and now I know what it looks like! It is a powerful tool!!

  1. Gain clarity about what you want
  2. Begin to focus energy in that direction
  3. Allow ourselves to let go of energy that we had previously set into motion so that we  may make space for new future outcomes.
If you do not have a vision board it is really important that you make one as part of your personal and professional growth. If you are going to attract what you want, you need to know what that looks like. A vision board is really a collage of all of your life dreams. What do you want to do, have or accomplish.

Don't be too focused on the outcome, leave plenty of room for your highest good to come to you in a slightly different package. Spend a fair amount of time achieving energetic alignment with the things, people, opportunities and experiences that you would most like to attract into our life.

You can have it all, dare to dream....
