| Price Increase for the New Year |
| You will be noticing a price increase in our furniture come the New Year. The cost of wood continues to increase and the sagging US dollar has given us no choice but to increase our prices. Make sure to place your orders before February 29th to avoid this increase. All orders must be shipped before March 31st to avoid this increase. |
| Renting Out Your Vacation Home
Do it yourself vs. Rental Management Company In our last issue we discussed strategies for furnishing a rental income home. In this issue we will attempt to tackle the question of "renting it out yourself" or "hiring a property rental manager" to do it for you. As with anything, there are pros and cons to both approaches. There is no right or wrong decision in this area. Your choice depends on your available time, how involved you want to get and the amount of cash flow you want/need from this property.

Taking a Time Out ...
With our first year at Gringo Furniture behind us, and our 2nd year well underway, I decided it was time to take a vacation from the 12 hours days of the past 2 years. In 6 years I have never been away from my blackberry, phone or computer for longer than 24 hours. I was turning 40 and thought it was high time I took a little time with my family. It was a difficult decision to go. Leaving my business was like leaving a child for the first time. Luckily, I have great staff and the business was going to be well taken care of. We packed our suitcases and boarded a plane on October 20th for 14 days of pure excitement. Our destination was Kenya, Africa. My traveling companions were my husband Greg, Mother (71 years old) and her best friend since childhood, Lucia (also, 71 years old). It had been always been a dream of mine to go to Africa, not only for the wildlife but for the experience of the culture. To be able to experience it with the people who matter most to me in life was the icing on the cake.

It is with much excitement that we welcome Alexandra Ramirez to the Gringo Furniture family. Alex came to Canada from Colombia 7 years ago with her husband and 3 children. She is proud mom to Camilo, Matthew and Annie; they are her inspiration to work hard every day. Alex's new role at Gringo Furniture will be Customer Service Representative. She will coordinate all deliveries; track them and then follow-up once you have received your furniture. Alex speaks fluent English and Spanish.
Her background is in Linguistic and Literature for which she studied at the University in Bogotá, Colombia. Her favorite subject while at University was psychology because she loves to interact, help and understand what people need. She is the type of person who cares about her job and her customers. We are very fortunate to have her on our team and we know our customers will benefit from her hard work. My families' business started 40 years ago, when my father Jose Mizrahi Salame opened a furniture store in the historical city of Mexico City.
