Spring Member/Owners Meeting & BBQ
Saturday, May 21

We're feeling very adventurous this year, braving the weather for an outdoor Spring Meeting/Open House BBQ here at the Co-op. (Rain or shine. Please hope for shine!). We'll have a formal presentation at 4:00 and then the member/owners and BOD will mix and mingle and discuss co-op business over a grilled hotdog (vegan or otherwise). Please come, have a snack, and enjoy the day with us!

Green Hills Products Hit the Co-op's Shelves

We're all in it together...

 Green Hills Cinnamon Rolls

It started on a spring-ish day at 2nd Story on Westcott Street. Green Hills owners, Heather and Schuyler Hawkins (and new members of Syracuse First) had reached out to our Marketing Manager, Amanda Gormley for help promoting local products. The three of them met at the coffee shop, and the conversation turned to the misconception that small, local, independent grocery stores compete against one another. Actually, we're all in it together, working to change the narrative of food. Green Hills and SRFC have very similar values, and work towards similar ends. We care about local products, we work hard to stay in touch with our customers (and owners), and we want to provide the best possible products around. Which got us talking... Green Hills has a GREAT bakery with the best scones, cinnamon rolls, rugelach, and other treats in the area. Why not carry them at SRFC?!

We're proud to announce that as of today, Syracuse Real Food Cooperative is carrying Green Hills' all natural bakery products plus other delicious items like cream cheese (with three flavors to die for: veggie, raisin walnut, and bacon scallion), pizza dough and fresh baked bread.

MuMu Muesli
Add a little 'Mu' to your breakfast

We love food with a story, and we especially love the story of MuMu Muesli. Owners Mike and Lisa Schuster (AKA MuMu Mike and Lisa) discovered Muesli when trying to move away from toasted foods. They wanted a raw, healthy breakfast option. Conventional cereals just weren't cutting it. So, they started making their own Muesli at home and after nine months of enjoying it with each other, they decided to share it with the world.

Now. "Ms. Mu" (their colorfully dawned, mumu wearing spokes-cow) takes her place on the shelf of many a Co-op and natural foods store. SRFC is proud to be one of the first Co-ops to carry MuMu Muesli, and we want to share this great, natural cereal with you. So this month at the Co-op, you can get a package of MuMu Muesli for 20% off it's regular price, just $4.99!
