  • Order 2009 Cycling Kits
    Sterling Jersey

We are now taking orders for the 2009 Sterling Cycling kits. These are the same ones used by the cyclocross team, and available to you at a really great price. We're still finalizing the look, but figure it'll be pretty close to the one above. You can download the order form below. Orders are DUE and PAID by July 30th!

For this season we are going with Pactimo as our clothing provider. I chose Pactimo after meeting with Derek, the area rep, at the San Rafael Twilight. He's a real down to earth fan of cycling and the product line is really nice. We have a bunch of different items available including shorts, bibs, jerseys, skingsuits, and vests. We also have two levels - Ascent or Summit - to choose from.

Ascent is very nice, fits well and is a good value. A jersey & bib short is about $160.

Summit is a nicer "race level" clothing for those who want the nicest possible chamois experience! A jersey and bib short is ~$225...but oh so nice!

    2009 Cyclocross Team!
    cx liza

We are proud to announce the initial roster for our 2009 race team. This year we have a bunch of returning riders and a few new faces. Let's see if we can do this in some sort of fun way...

Kicking off the crew is Jeff Nebolini ripping phat laps and eating up rotini, n'er outdone by deadly Bill Strachan pulling the trigger - click, boom, gone - lay the bets down on him! Next up we have little Mattie Mc, he ain't that fast but he's got the cutest girlies...Mia, Starr and the whole speed crew, almost as fast as speedy Justin Kromelew, no that's low - as in Kromelow my friend, don't forget he's got speed til the very end. No, I can't rhyme, it's true, and yes I feel foolish...but you try to rhyme Walbroehl and Miszkiewicz. Lucky for me Dr Yvonne and Ed are ready and willing to take those suckas by the head. Sayers Mike Ryan Madison

Athlete Of The Month: Jim Werle
    Werle Win!

Jim was recently crowned the overall champion of the Central Coast MTB Series in the 45+ Sport Division. The win is nice...but it's the way he won that is most impressive, and that earned him Athlete Of The Month honors for July. For starters Jim won nearly every race, but as with any hard earned reward there was a 'bump' in the road. In Jim's words:

"During round #9, a round that I could totally blow off due to Rod's scoring system, I crashed hard on the last lap while leading and broke a rib and partially collapsed my right lung. I got up and finished second. I spent the night in ICU at Monterrey Community Hospital after an ambulance ride to the ER. I was basically immobile for two weeks while I tried to heal. My goal was to ride the tenth round just fast enough to pick up enough points to win the series. I figured a 10th place would do it. As it were, I finished 11th in tons of pain and won the championship by four points!!

    Now that's Sterling!

Jim's 'day job' is Bay Area Mobile Bike Repair - his mobile bike repair service that will come to yoru house, tune your bike and share a story or two. Adding to that, Jim is a stellar supporter of the Sterling CX Team as our race mechanic, and also a member of the race team, tearing it up in the 45+ B's this season. For all that and more - Jime Werle is our athlete of the month!

'Cross Webinar - We will be hosting a Cyclocross Training Webinar on August 27th. It will cover 'cross specific training and racing requirements including program design, equipment selection, interval formats for racing, and more. Webinar is $15.
