DV has just been singled out by the nationwide magazine Agent@Home. In their 2006 "Readers Choice" award issue, home-based agents across America recognized four training programs as being exceptionally helpful. The winning program was the "Cancun Tourism Institute" sponsored by the Cancun CVB. Also cited in the award category was the Mexico Tourism Board's "Magic of Mexico" training program.

Both of these award-winning programs are produced and managed by DV! Created to be both easy-to-use and more than just "on-line reading" our interactive e-learning system was singled out by readers ahead of dozens of other foreign tourism board training and support programs.

In a ceremony in Los Angeles on November 15th 2006, Destination Ventures was officially granted Associate Parter status by the World Heritage Alliance, formed in 2005 by ExpediaŽ and the United Nations Foundation.

DV helped the Alliance in reaching several goals, including the launch of the ExpediaŽ Employee Program, and the implementation of five training programs and an online course for local travel industry suppliers and partners in the Yucatan Peninsula, where 5 of Mexico's 26 World Heritage sites are located.

This assistance includes ongoing creation and support of both ?live? and online training modules, in both English and Spanish, designed to boost awareness of World Heritage, sustainable tourism and responsible tourism practices.

The DV team of writers, photographers and designers spent several months developing the newly launched "Magic of Mexico" on-line learning campus. Launched officially on November 1, 2006 and sponsored by the Mexico Tourism Board, the program achieved over 1,000 registered learners in its first 60 days of operation!

These learners completed over ***** interactive courses (with exams), while gaining access to our full-color "Magic of Mexico" Study Guide. This award-winning 300-page "bible" for agents selling Mexico is offered to learners free of charge via PDF-formated chapters. Containing over 50 detailed maps, full-color photography and thousands of sales tips, suggestions and resources, the program will continue in 2007.

A common challenge faced by airlines, destination CVBs, hotels and attractions is: "Who's really selling my product?" With tour operator- generated sales dominating the sales cycle, most suppliers don't really know who's closing the sale and interfacing directly with the vacationer.

Until now! DV has developed a "Booking Tracker" that serves as a sales reward system for retail and home-based agents, while giving suppliers an efficient way to track production back to the sales source.

Our easy-to-use system has agents enter their package sales in a password-protected system, earning them "sales points" that can be accumulated over time and redeemed for prizes and travel rewards. The system lets you quantify, qualify and communicate with hundreds of retailers in your key U.S. and Canadian markets. Use this data to target geographic regions, thank your top sellers and provide special incentives.

The Puerto Vallarta CVB has hired DV to develop and implement a travel agent specialist program for the destination in 2007. The program will include a bilingual (English and Spanish), interactive e-learning campus, familiarization trips with eco-adventure and culinary focus, and an innovative "booking tracker" allowing agents to earn Puerto Vallarta vacation stays.

The program will be launched in Spring of 2007. The online learning course -- complete with photos, active links, videos, and a full-color downloadable study guide -- will accompany the online learning course which will be free to agents.
