Writer, raconteur, singer and satirist Garrison Keillor is creator of the quirky radio cabaret A Prairie Home Companion. Keillor is author of more than a hundred books and recordings and two influential poetry anthologies, which feature poems he has read aloud on "A Writer's Almanac," his daily radio digest and website. This solo appearance by Garrison Keillor is a benefit for The Frost Place, which will host a reception, preceding the performance, at the AVA Gallery, 11 Bank Street, Lebanon, 5:30-7pm. Thursday, February 5, 3:30-7:30pm Plymouth Elementary School www.aannh.org A free workshop ($10 for supper) for teachers at all grade levels, and interested community members. Former poet laureate of Maine Baron Wormser follows the complete process of presenting a poem in the classroom: reading aloud, listening, writing the poem down, responding to the poem in terms of word choice and the elements of the art of poetry, asking questions, using the poem as a model for writing an original poem and peer editing to revise that poem.
