SAVE THE DATE! Dance in Rural Settings, an exploration of the opportunities and challenges related to presenting dance in rural communities, will be held Tuesday, May 13, at St. Johnsbury Academy, St. Johnsbury, Vermont. During the day, one of seven dance exchanges presented by the National Dance Project (a program of the New England Foundation for the Arts), we will also consider ways of encouraging performance opportunities for regional dance artists. We're pleased to cooperate, through our Extending the Dance Map: A Northern New England Rural Dance Initiative, on this event, open to presenters, dancers and educators. Let us know if you'd like to participate or want to hear more.

Visual Arts Map & Guide: We need your help as we create a print and web guide to celebrate our region's galleries, studios, arts businesses and individual artists and craftspeople. Visit our website at www.aannh.org to fill out a Participation Form and Information Form, or to forward information to artists you know. For details, call project coordinator Mary Anne Sledzinski at 986-5505 or email [email protected].

It's Easy to Bring Programs to Your Town or School in 2008! If you work at a North Country school or pre-school, after-school program, senior center, nursing home, or any other agency that might be interested in presenting cultural programs, we're happy to help you develop customized offerings or include you in a block-booking with other presenters. AANNH programs bring outstanding professional performers and traditional, visual and literary artists to our region to present workshops, concerts, and training sessions. Arts, Culture and Heritage in the North Country

We're pleased to present our ArtsNorth e-bulletin for you and your guests, arranged by sub-regions from north to south and by date. Please be sure to confirm event details prior to attending. Use our "jump to" function (in the column to the left under the In This Issue section), which allows you to go directly to your geographic areas of interest. You can view our complete ArtsNorth calendar for additional details, and find events beyond the dates in this bulletin in our Plan-Ahead Arts Calendar. Links to both calendars are available in the Quick Links section. Please note that Arts Alliance member organizations are indicated with our member icon. We appreciate our members, and encourage you to attend their events -- and invite you, too, to join us as an individual, artist, family, business, school or institutional member (see http://aannh.org/membership.php for membership information).

If your organization is presenting a cultural event, email details to us as early as possible at [email protected] and we'll include it in the online ArtsNorth calendar and in our email bulletins. You can simply add [email protected] to your press list. Our e-bulletins cover three weeks at a time during the fall and winter. Submission deadline for the next bulletin, covering February 14-March 5, is February 7.
