The Seven Church Ages
Rated From One to Ten

balance

In Revelation chapters 2 and 3, Jesus judged each of the seven churches. The 7 letters mix praise and censure with the exception of the letters to Smyrna and Philadelphia. These churches were commended without reservation.

If you were to assign a scale of one to ten that reflected Christ's judgment, Ephesus would start out as a ten but end up as a six. Smyrna was a ten but Pergamus fell to a five. Thyatira was a two but Sardis was a five. Philadelphia was a ten but Laodicea falls off the chart.

Draw a graph of the Church Age Rated 1-10
Sequence by the Feasts
graph5 Now get a pencil and paper and draw a simple graph that connects the ups and downs of the church era with the sequence of the feasts revealed in the previous newsletter.

Put the 7 feasts on the base line or y-axis and the rating 1-10 on the vertical x-axis.

Remember there were three feasts in the first month and a feast in the third followed by a long interval. Then there were three feasts in the seventh month. So use 10 for your x-axis and 21 for a longer y-axis and plot these coordinates.

  1. 10,00 - Early Church in its Purity
  2. 06,01 - Ephesus - Church Lost its First Love
  3. 10,02 - Smyrna - Persecuted Church was Commended
  4. 05,03 - Church and State Unite
  5. 02,10 - Church fell into Papal Idolatry
  6. 05,19 - Reformation
  7. 10,20 - Victorian Age of Purity
  8. 01,21 - End Time Falling Away

By connecting the dots you have a line that providentially parallels the ups and downs of the church age!

This will help you see an even more amazing pattern in our next letter. The the ups and downs of the church age parallel the kingdom age.
