The Seven Church Ages
And the Levitical Calendar

tabernacle

The church ages fall in an irregular sequence. Three church ages were fulfilled quickly but the fourth church age streches nearly 1000 years. Then three short church ages are grouped at the end of the age.

Did God cause HIStory to fit a predetermined mold or did He merely foresee that history would unfold as it did. The answer is found in the book of Leviticus.

Israel had a Seven Month Religious Calendar
Festivals were in the Spring and Fall
Israel had a 7 month religious calendar which was marked by seven annual feasts. They celebrated three spring festivals in the first month followed by a fourth in the third month. After a pause during the summer, there were three fall festivals in the seventh month.

These feasts were faithfully enacted for over 1000 years.

  1. Passover - First Month
  2. Unleavened Bread - First Month
  3. First Fruits- First Month
  4. Pentacost - Third Month
  5. Trumpets - Seventh Month
  6. Atonement - Seventh Month
  7. Tabernacles - Seventh Month

Church Age Unfolded According to God's Design
The Church Ages Correspond to the Festivals
By God's marvelous design, the seven ages of the church fall into the same pattern. Three church ages were fulfilled quickly. A fourth continued almost a thousand years. Finally, three church eras have completed the age. The church age unfolded in the pattern of Israel's festival calendar!

  1. Ephesus - The Passover- Spring
  2. Smyrna - Unleavened Bread - Spring
  3. Pergamos - First Fruits - Spring
  4. Thyatira - Pentacost - Spring
  5. Sardis - Trumpets - Fall
  6. Philadelphia - Atonement - Fall
  7. Laodicea - Tabernacles - Fall
