The Soli-Lunar Cycle
And God said, Let there be lights in the
firmament of heaven to divide the day from the night;
and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days
and years. Genesis 1:14
God has set the sun and moon revolving in the
heavens synchronized like a fine chronometer.
The
soli-lunar cycle silently measures the long cycles of
bible prophecy.
The seven times punishment (2520 years) had been
discovered during the Advent movement.
William Miller taught that beginning with the last
captivity date of Northern Israel (676 B.C.), the
2520 would end in 1843-4. A generation later Grattan
Guiness discovered that 2520 lunar years from the
captivity date of the southern two tribes (603 B.C.)
also ended in 1844.
Adding the 75 (lunar) years in Daniel 12 to 1844
he
realized that the 1335 would end in 1917. (75
lunar years is 73 solar years). In addition, 2520 solar
years
from 603 was to end in 1918/9.
There is an East and a West in Bible Prophecy
Lunar time periods pertain to the sanctuary - Jerusalem
Grattan Guiness argued that lunar time periods
pertained to the East and the sanctuary or
Jerusalem. Solar time periods were for the West
and the throne. Therefore he believed that the
1335
lunar was a terminal date for Jerusalem that would
see the end of Gentile rule. Ever since AD 70,
Jerusalem had been under the control of either Rome
or Islam.
Guiness revolutionized bible chronology and when
Allenby entered Jaffa gate it triggered an explosion of
insight within the British Commonwealth. Sadly,
these insights have been "Left Behind" by our
generation
except for a remnant.
Was Jesus's life a Soli-Lunar Cycle?
An awesome thing to contemplate.
The earth circles the sun in 365.2424 days. But 12
lunations end in 354.367 days. The solar year then
gains 10.8754 days (the epact) each year.
In 33.6 years they have made a complete cycle and
are back in sync.
Guiness argues that Christ's lifetime was 33.5 years,
6 months and 40 days (before ascension). That is
33.6 years. This is equal to 33 years, seven lunar
months and 7 days which Guiness explains is a
perfect cycle. So Christ's life was a soli-lunar cycle.
There are 75 soli-lunar cycles in 2520 years. Do
we see evidence of design?
- 33.5 years + 40 days = 33.6 yrs
- 33 years + 7 lunar months + 7 days = 33.6 yrs.
- 365.24 / (epact 10.8754) = 33.6 years
- Solar year gains a full year on lunar year
The sun gains 73 years or 75 lunar years over the
lunar year in 2520 lunar years. So the lunar
1335 or (1260+1260+75) ended at the same
time as the 2520 solar.

Daniel's 70 Weeks
A Solar and Lunar Fulfillment
Daniel's 70th week is also soli-lunar. There were
strangely two decrees to rebuild Jeruslam.
The first
(Ezra 7:6-9) in the fall of 457/8 BC and the second
(Nehemiah 2) 14.5 years later in the spring of 444
BC. Nehemiah specifies the
month of Nisan.
Seventy weeks is 490 years. The midst of the 70th
week is then 486.5 years. There are exactly 472 solar
years in 486.5 lunar years. And 486.5 less 472 = 14.5
years (458-7 less 444). If the two decrees
were exactly 14.5 years apart then the middle of
the Daniel's 70th week is the same measured solar
from Ezra and lunar from Nehemiah. (within 5
days)
It is seemingly impossible to perfectly synchronize the
two starting dates, the baptism of Jesus(yr 483), the
crucifiction(yr 486.5) and the stoning of Steven(yr 490).
Assumptions must be made and the dates are
controversial. However, the link below is an interesting
attempt at a solution.
God provided the sun and the moon as
two witnesses
to the important
time periods and certainly none was more important
than the sacrifice of His Son.
