Ideas and Inspirations for Living Blog

Greetings!
Young costume parade winner

The weather has been very unusual for this time of year.  What a pleasant change for January.  The forecast does call for higher than normal precipitation for the next three months.

January is a time for fresh beginnings, returning the Christmas decorations to their storage place and restoring the house to a fresh, clean look and thinking of spring to come.  If your house looks a little empty and boring, a lush, new green plant can do a lot to freshen and liven up a room, not to mention clean the air.

January is usually the time we resolve to become healthy, including exercise and diet.  Don't forget about your emotional well being.  Many studies have shown simple ways to lift your moods are with fresh flowers and green plants.

The added benefit of green plants is that they will clean the air in our homes and work places.  Indoor plants are good for your mind, body, and soul.  Be sure to take advantage of "Poinsettia Trade-in Days" and save 25% on a fresh, new, easy to grow plant.

Start your weekend right by taking advantage of the great opportunity to pick up a few fresh flowers every Friday.  "Friday Flowers" are 1/2 price, fresh cut, wrapped flowers.  Place a few flowers around the house to give yourself an emotional lift. Just $5 a week will give you a boost. Come Monday morning, fresh flowers can cure the morning blahs.

Take a minute to remember the people around you that could also use a fresh flower pick-me-up.

Think spring,
Vicky

The Secrets to Growing Healthy House Plants

House plants clean the airA few important things to remember will make growing plants indoor easy and fun.

Choosing easy to grow plants-

Some plants are just easier to grow than others. Growing conditions, such as water and light, are critical to the growing success of all plants, but some plants are a little more forgiving, if it isn't perfect all the time. Pothos and philodendrons are great examples of easy to grow plants. They are great if you are a beginner and don't have much experience, or really busy and don't have much time or desire to fuss over plants.
