Biocycle is great to use in early Spring when water temperatures reach 60 degrees or better. This two phase water conditioner uses a specific nonmetallic pigment base and screens out specific sun rays interrupting photosynthesis. Live reproducing microbes out compete algae for available nutrients in the water. Used in a structured maintenance program algal blooms are minimized and less frequent during warm months.

Greetings!

Keeping your pond looking great year around takes a little time and money.  Ponds, much like your lawn, needs attention from time to time. The trick to spending less money is preventative maintenance.  Using the right products at the right time will make your pond easier to manage and more enjoyable.  In this article we will go over a few strategies to help you get the edge over algae and vegetation and make your pond more productive.
 
Remember, the first step to using the right product is to properly identify your type of vegetation or algae.

Aquashade
AquashadeAquashade is a great tool that can be used year round. Aquashade is not only an effective way of minimizing weed and algae, it will have an aesthetically pleasing crisp, clear aqua-blue coloration. It will not cloud the water nor significantly reduce visibility.This product is a blend of blue and yellow dyes specifically designed to screen or shade portions of the sunlight spectrum (red-orange and blue-violet) required by underwater aquatic plant and algae growth. Cutrine Plus Granular (Algaecide)
Cutrine Plus Granular CUTRINE-PLUS GRANULAR is an algaecide which controls existing algae and inhibits rapid re-infestation. Cutrine is best used when algae is forming on the bottom of the pond.  Spot treating with Cutrine is easy.  Simply apply to areas in which algae is  present.  Click on picture for more information and pricing. Cutrine Plus Liquid
Cutrine Plus LiquidMuch like the Granular, the liquid is very effective on algae growth.  Liquid, is generally  used when algae is visible on the surface.  It is mixed nine to one with water and sprayed directly on algae mats that are present. Also, keep in mind, when liquid or granular is used properly fish can be caught and consumed immediately after treatment.  Click on the picture for more information and pricing.
