Three years running

You voted and Ashley's won, the "BEST BEER SELECTION" in Metro Detroit. Ever since WDIV started the 4 THE BEST of metro Detroit competition three years ago, Ashley's has won for best beer selection and your votes made the difference this year. See the results - click here.

We are starting a new tradition for Ashley's with our Westland Oktoberfest Party set for Saturday September 26th. We will be tapping 12 different kegs of Oktoberfest beer for a party from 6pm-midnight. See below for more details. Your ticket includes 10 samples of beer, German food and live music provided by Looking Up At Down. Make sure you purchase your tickets before Saturday when the price goes up.

We will be showing the UFC fight this Saturday in Westland. We now have 3 Big Screen TVs ( a new one in the bar) for more great seats to catch all the action.

Football Season is in full swing Ashley's is your place to catch all the action as we add even more TVs to both our locations. U of M plays Eastern at noon (Big10 TV) and MSU plays ND (Notre Dame Broadcasting Co. - NBC) at 3:30.

Coming in November Ashley's (Westland) will host the first annual Michigan Cask Ale Festival. I just received two firkins (Ashley's owns them) to send out to Stone and Flying Dog. They have promised to send back something very interesting. We will be releasing more details in the next few newsletter so stay tuned!

Last weekend I went to Chicago for the U2 concert. While there I stopped at my favorite Scotch store to restock my personal supply. As I picked up a few more whiskies from Distilleries that have closed it got me thinking. Is there interest in having a tasting of lost Scotches?
