NOVA Open 40k GT is an ETC Qualifier
The NOVA Open 2012 is now an official Team America qualifier for the ETC. Check out the details at Bell of Lost Souls.
Long story short, ETC2012 is the "main" qualifier, as the top three scorers and captain return. The remaining spots will go to winners/alternates of NOVA 2012, AdeptiCon 2013, and WarGamesCon 2012. A Wild Card fourth is subsequently drawn from the combo of DaBoyz, Feast of Blades, the Bay Area Open and the aforementioned major 3.

5th or 6th Edition at the NOVA?
The final determination on which Edition will be used at the NOVA Open this year cannot be made until confirmation of Games Workshop's release date. Upon confirmation of release date, we will release our final decision. Our current thinking is as follows:
The 40k Invitational will definitely be run in 5th Edition, as everyone is qualifying in 5th Edition.
The 40k Trios Tournament will be determined by the 6th Edition release date, though we are slightly more likely to use 6th if released.
The 40k DC Narrative will be determined by the 6th Edition release date, though we are much more likely to use 6th if released.
The 40k GT will be determined by the 6th Edition release date, though we are slightly more likely to use 5th without significantly more lead time than two months.
Please keep posted to the NOVA Open Website, Whiskey & 40k Blog, and incoming e-mail newsletters for a formal decision as soon as 6th Edition is formally announced by Games Workshop.

FLAMES OF WAR
This year, the NOVA Open will be hosting demonstration games all weekend and two separate Flames of War tournaments:
- 1500 point Early War
- 1750 point Late War
Expect to play on terrain heavy boards, with tables themed for all three fronts, with awards going to both generalship and hobby fields, winners and losers alike! Learn more.

INFINITY
Infinity will make its debut at the NOVA Open 2012 on Sunday, Sep. 2. The tournament will be four non-elimination rounds at 250 points.
Prize support from Corvus Belli will be generous, and tournament results will be entered (upon request) into the online ITS system. Learn more.

Meal Deals at NOVA Open
 Last year, NOVA attendees asked for dining arrangements that would be quick, tasty, and convenient.
The HYATT has agreed to help us, but with the caveat that we must have enough pre-sales for them to commit to the program.
If you are playing back-to-back games and don't expect to have much time to visit one of the local restaurants- this is the best option for you. Remember- this year NOVA starts on a workday, so you may be caught up in the office lunch crowd.
