Another North Shore Location for You

North Shore MapAnimalSense is happy to announce we have another training option for our North Shore clients. We will be holding training classes at The LaundryMutt in Wilmette starting with our Spring II session. This premier neighborhood pet spa specializes in dog and cat grooming. Check them out during their Open House next month.

Unfortunately, we will not be offering classes in Palatine for Spring II, but we hope to be back with our friends at Biscuits & Bows soon!

View our entire Spring II schedule.

Don't see a class offered in your area yet? We'll come to you! Check out our in-home Private Training packages offered seven days a week to fit your schedule.
Why Wait List? Get in the Know

Wait ListHave you tried to register for one of our classes only to learn that it was already full? Since we limit our class sizes so that you and your pup get lots of attention, some classes sell out fast. So, sign up early! If there is no other class that fits your schedule, be sure to get on the wait list. We are often able to add classes to the schedule if there is enough interest. By being on the Wait List, you'll be the first to know!

Free Assessments: More Days, Times, Locations

So, what exactly is a "Free Assessment"? It's your opportunity to get FREE dog training advice from the best in the business! Bring your friendly dog to any of the below days/times/locations, meet one-on-one with a trainer and discuss any issues you may be having. Our trainer will guide you to the best training solution for your dog, whether it's a group class, private training or a simple answer given right there on the spot. Don't miss the opportunity to learn how you can better live with your dog! If you do not have a friendly dog, please leave him at home and come on your own.

Trainer Immerses Herself in all Things Dog

Alison Downs
Huck & Alison
Alison Downs' life changed when she met Huck. "Until adopting Huck, I did not realize the incredible nature of human-dog bond.  His complex behavior fascinated me and the more I learned about dog behavior, the more I wanted to learn," says Alison.

A graduate of CanineLink Training & Behavior Academy, Alison now helps current and future students. As Curriculum Coordinator, it is her goal to ensure each student is exposed to a comprehensive overview of each topic, including differing opinions, scientific studies, and antidotes.

Now in her second session as a Junior Trainer with AnimalSense, Alison says her favorite skill to teach is "Watch Me". "Eye contact is the first step in teaching a dog to defer to his human in decision-making. When my dogs give me eye contact, they are less likely to chase after that squirrel," says Alison. But she credits training for giving her a more realistic view about who dogs are and who they are not.
Read her latest blog on the subject.
