KLEENSPEED® Technologies engineering team debuted the KleenSpeed World KAR platform at Stanford on June 12, presenting at the Stanford CARS 2012 Vehicle Concept Showcase. Tim Collins, president and Dante Zeviar CTO were introduced by CARS executive director Sven Beiker and provided a glimpse of the progress on the KAR, now undergoing development for real world testing to begin in July.
The CARS Vehicle Concept Showcase is an invitational event focused on the presentation of innovative new vehicle concepts by Stanford groups and EV industry companies and entrepreneurs. In addition to the KleenSpeed KAR, vehicles were presented by ArciMoto, Lit Motors, Local Motion, Stanford Solar Car, Sway Motorsports and Switch Vehicles.
Stanford's Sven Bieker looks on with Dante Zeviar of KleenSpeed as KS president Tim Collins discusses the KleenSpeed World KAR.
The KAR prototype is nearing completion as the innovative KleenSpeed platform has been fullly fabricated and installed in the body shell supplied by a potential manufacturing partner, a major Chinese automaker. Full suspension and component subframes are completed, the battery and motor cooling and cabin HVAC subsystems are installed, and the interior development is well along.
