KLEENSPEED KAR 2014 Concept 2+2

The KleenSpeed design team has completed Phase 1 of the work on the 2014 KAR Concept 2+2, including a large scale model. The Concept KAR's design is a blend of cutting edge contemporary style and practical functionality. This design direction was chosen to produce a vehicle with distinctive lines and form, recognizable as a unique icon from the new KleenSpeed brand, but not so radical as to limit appeal to a broad audience.

The Concept KAR's styling is the work of KleenSpeed Lead Designer Brian Rhim, with the clay model work completed by Jinwoo Kang, modelmaker and design assistant.

The next stage of the design process will include a full color and detail treatment. At that time the design will be finalized, digitized and transmitted to our production partner for tooling and engineering study.

The KAR Concept 2+2 is based on a complete EV platform being designed and engineered by KleenSpeed, which will be fitted with a variety of alternative body modules.

The KAR Concept 2+2 is the first in a series of planned for production EVs based on the KAR Platform technologies. A 4-passenger sedan will be developed next, followed by other body configurations.

Platform Engineering Moves Ahead

While the design and styling team has reached their first benchmark on the future production version of the KAR, the KleenSpeed technology team has been hard at work on the engineering of the development Prototype KAR VX-1.

CTO Dante Zeviar has been leading this effort with a target of late Spring 2012 for completion of a complete, driveable prototype of the KleenSpeed KAR Platform Chassis and EV system fitted with a modified bodyshell developed from a current production model made by our Asian manufacturing partner.
