EV-X11 : Ready for ReFuel 2011 : June 26

The KLEENSPEED EV-X11 and the race team are ready for the 3rd Annual ReFuel EV Speed Trial Event this coming Sunday, June 26 at Mazda Raceway, Laguna Seca, CA.  We expect to run in the afternoon sessions.  We are looking forward to setting a new lap record and maintaining our position as the fastest EV race track car in the world for the third straight year. 

Following our dual test sessions at Infineon Receway in Sonoma, CA, the KLEENSPEED Technologies race team returned to headquarters at the NASA AMES Facilty in Moffett Field to analyze the data and make any possible improvements to the EV-X11. 

The team analyzed the the 20 different streams of data from the EV-X11 electric power system derived from the 15 laps of testing at Infineon Raceway.   Using the insights gained from this study, KLEENSPEED engineers fine tuned the system and set up the EV-X11 for the characteristics of the Laguna Seca race track (longer straightaway with 140 mph trap speed). Through the control options provided by the KLEENSPEED Battery Management System, the final race set up will move closer to utilization of peak amps and volts from the battery packs sent to the motor controller and the motor. The liquid cooled UQM motor and controller, coupled with the KLEENSPEED components and electric storage system, are all completely programmable via the KLEENSPEED Integrated Vehicle System which will allow us to reach higher levels of sustained power use for the ReFuel record attempt.  The EV-X11 is now ready for the record run.
