Has PSYCH-K Gone to the Dogs?
Here's a wonderful story to prove that it has. | |
Meet Saxon - also known as The Drool Meister |
I met a lovely lady and fellow dog lover at my last Advanced Class. Her name was Mary and when the time came to practice the Relationship Balance, Mary chose to do a relationship balance with her dog Mikki.
Mikki was a small dog with an abundance of energy and a zest for life. Her exuberance would at times get her into precarious situations, most often when out for a walk. Mikki loved to race ahead on the trails and would at times disappear from Mary's sight. This worried Mary as Mikki was her heart of hearts and she wanted to keep her happy and safe.
A week or so after Mary returned home, she sent me the following note.
"...while walking in the forest with Mikki, she joyfully ran ahead on the trail. I couldn't see far over the next rise and heard some distant barking from the farmhouses. I called for Mikki to 'Come Here' and she immediately listened (her mantra in the balance had been "I quickly listen to you for my own good!"). As soon as I put her leash back on, three large dogs came over the rise. I was able to gather her up quickly as they milled around me. A fourth one then appeared who was more aggressive. I was so happy that we did the relationships balance with Mikki in surrogation. It reinforces that her mum knows what is safest for her.
I'll never forget your workshop and the space you hold for people. Thank you. Namaste ~ Mary
Mary's story is a wonderful example of how PSYCH-K can benefit all those we love.

Have you heard the saying, "You're never too old to have a happy childhood?" Well, The First Grader puts a new spin on this adage, in the telling of Maruge, a Kenyan freedom fighter who goes back to school at the age of 84. This inspiring movie is a testament to the power of BELIEF and although reviewers say - be prepared to applaud but not to stand - the sentimentalist and teacher in me can not stay at home.
Join us at The ACT in Maple Ridge for a showing of The First Grader on Monday, October 24th, 7pm.
