The seventeen women in the photo above each contributed $1 each to start the Library in 1955. Our founding members are posing for the camera on the site of the present-day Gold Mine, the thrift store, located at 331 Walnut Avenue in Ketchum, that provides one-third of the Library's operating income.
Donations appreciated! Shopping encouraged!
For all you lovers of libraries we offer up the following photo essay to 15 libraries around the world.
I am pleased to announce that the new Gold Mine Manager, who will attempt to fill Jan Mason's shoes (she is retiring after 22 years with the Gold Mine), is Craig Barry. His first day will be 21 March 2011. More about Craig in the next newsletter. Please join us for a no-speech low-key farewell party for Jan, in the Library at 6:00 on Friday 25 March!
