Washington Technology Student Association
Competitive Event Updates
Greetings!

As we continue to gear up for the State Conference, below are some important updates and reminders about our competitive events.  Please take a moment and review them as they are important to the success of your students.

I am also writing to ask you and your student to really think about what events you are registering for.  Have a hear to heart conversation with your students as they sign up to ensure they are committed to competing in the events they register for.  We are working hard to bring industry professionals in to judge, and there is nothing worse than getting them geared up to judge only to find out that those that registered did not actually compete in the event or the quality of the entries is really poor.  Further as we plan for conference, we need an accurate event count on Feb. 18th.

Finally be sure that you and your students read the rules and understand what is expected in each event before you register.  Often people confuse events or the title changes and they think they are registering for something in reality it is not what they wanted.

Sincerely,

Ross Short
Executive Director
Washington TSA

A reminder that in order to compete in the TSA/ VEX Robotics Challenge, EACH TEAM must be registered with Robot Events prior to registering for the conference.  To do this visit:

The plan at State is that Middle and High School VEX Teams will compete against each other.  There will not be a separate middle school tournament.  We will also be playing the complete VEX Gateway Game (including alliances).
Conference Registration
The conference registration deadline is Feb. 18th.  Competitive Event registration closes that day as well.  The last day to submit changes to team configurations is March 1st.

In order to register for the conference your chapter must be affiliated with TSA.  That means you have completed the online affiliation process, hit submit, and faxed Nation TSA a PO for your membership dues.  Your chapter will not be allowed to register if it does not show up on our membership report as being fully affiliated.  Further, we will be cross checking your registration with the membership list on file with National TSA.  Student must be on file with TSA as members in order to compete.
