For a variety of factors, the PMA in South Australia has not had a smooth sail over the past two years. I am sure you are all familiar with the issues in the industry, so multiply those factors due of life in a small state, and then try and manufacture more time in your day for an industry association.
Also, I believe there is an attitude that the PMA is a big international body that can make things happen, and why are they not at work in my back yard...?
What is an association if it is not a group of similarly focused people?
That is all you need.
The PMA is no longer able to throw money around Australia making things happen, it is up to members to decide if they want to stick their necks out together, or if they would rather pull into their shells.
I am a necks out together guy.
With three meeting misfires under our belt, we planned a simple lunch at a good local Chinese restaurant. Who doesn't want to eat lunch?
And that is what we did, we sat down together, and blessed with the attendance of Peter Rose, we had a chat. We found out about the trade show, about CES, about PICA and IDEA, we discussed the contents of our inbox, we discussed business, we laughed.
Everyone was gone after two and a half hours, and we plan to do it again in two months, and hopefully everyone can bring another like-minded soul.
Our PMA may have a pulse.
Watch this space.

PMA SA Chairperson
The lunch was attended by, Nick Gunther, Alan Logue, Jaques Guerinet, John Clarke, Matt Makinson, John Atkins, Peter Rose and myself.
