ASCC eNEWSLETTER
OCTOBER 2010
Greetings!

The ASCC team would like to thank all of our members for making our September 11th race the most successful race to date. We had over 70 vehicles competing and over 2000 spectators came through the gates.

We appreciate all of your support and patience as we continue to grow and expand as an organization.  We will continue to strive to improve the racers' experience while providing a fun, safe, competitive and affordable racing series.

The ASCC eNewsletter will provide important announcements, changes to upcoming races, as well as highlights from past races. We will also have a featured Sponsor area and a"Trophy Kart Corner" where our young Trophy Kart drivers will have an opportunity to write an article about anything Trophy Kart related and submit for publishing.  Any Trophy Kart driver can send in an article for review and consideration for publishing. Please submit your Trophy Kart articles to lori@arizonashortcourse.com.

Sincerely,

Lori Barlow

TROPHY KART CORNER
Krista Smith was asked to write the Inaugural "Trophy Kart Corner" article because of her tenacity in promoting both her own racing career and the sport of off-road racing in general through her KSmith Racing Facebook page. Krista manages her facebook page very effectively. She has covered everything from offering babysitting services to raise money for her racing habit, announcing her next upcoming race, always thanking her sponsors after her racing weekend, to promoting and supporting other off-road related events and site.  Krista is developing some great marketing skills that will surely benefit her thoughout her life. Great Job! Krista

Trophy karts are so fun to race. I first saw saw trophy karts when I went out to a race at Speedworld with my grandpa and cousin. When I first saw the trophy kart race I said "Wow", "that's for me." I was very lucky my dad and grandpa bought a trophy kart for my brother and me to share and race.

My first race was October 2008 it was so much fun. But we learned to be competitive there were lots of things we had to change. My dad had to do a lot of work to the trophy kart and I would help him as much as I could. I have had a couple of bad wrecks but overall I have improved my racing abilities and placed in many races. I like racing in the new ASCC Series at Speedworld. I also have raced three Lucas Oil races. Speedworld is my favorite track.

This is my last year racing trophy karts and I'll miss it so much. I hope to continue racing in the future. I would like to thank my sponsors, Pure Racing, McM Motorsports, Dezert Toyz, DGP Photography and Fodrill Motorsports.
