Our new QE school in the spotlight this month is LILA.
Liverpool International Language Academy
Contact: Leanne Linacre, info@liverpoolila.com
Why do you think your school is a Quality school?
Our aim at LILA* is simple: love to learn*. We work hard to ensure that students have the best possible experience while they are studying with us in Liverpool. We are continuously striving to find new ways to offer that little bit extra to our students and improve all aspects of our service without compromise. We will soon be moving to a shiny new school and relocating to the heart of the city. The new school will boast 14,000 sq foot of contemporary learning facilities providing everything a LILA student could possibly wish for: quality teaching, value for money, wider range of courses, great location, personal service and the comprehensive social programme that will help shape their experience at LILA*. We like to think that 'once a LILA student*, always a LILA student*'
What made you join QE? We were looking for a way to differentiate ourselves from our competition and after researching our options decided that the ethos of Quality English - exceptional service, unique character and fine course choice - is in line with our ethos here at LILA*. We spoke to several agents and other key individuals in the industry and all held both Carolyn Blackmore and the Quality English brand in high esteem which made our choice a pretty clear-cut one.
Why would you recommend QE from what you know so far? The response from both existing and new agents on hearing that we had joined Quality English was really positive with many emailing their congratulations. We feel that being a Quality English school puts us in an elite league of schools and sets us apart from other schools in the market. With competition increasing all the time I think students and agents look for this type of differentiation. The process of becoming a Quality English was very straight-forward. We were well-supported by Carolyn who encouraged us all the way.
What are the main reasons to recommend Liverpool to a foreign student wishing to learn English? Liverpool has so much to offer students as a vibrant, iconic, cultural European destination all at excellent value for money. It has more theatres, museums and galleries than any other city outside of London. Its rich musical heritage is unrivalled; Liverpool is officially the World Capital of Pop. There is also plenty for sports fans to enjoy with two of the Premiership's biggest football teams in Liverpool FC and Everton FC. The region is home to England's finest golf coast, hosting many Open Championships and Ryder Cups. The city also stages the world-famous Grand National at Aintree Racecourse.
The local people, 'Scousers', are famously friendly and will welcome you to their city with pride. Their sense of fun and love of a great night out makes the nightlife in Liverpool legendary!

 Istanbul and Almaty |
QE has completed its two-centre mission to Istanbul and Almaty.
QE last went to Istanbul in 2006 when we held a successful and well-timed first mission coinciding with the then surge of interest in English language travel. During the intervening years many of the QE schools have made regular trips to Istanbul so QE is now well known in the Turkish market. The purpose of this mission was to reinforce existing links with agents and to meet new agents who have entered the market more recently.
Going to Almaty was a first for QE and we were delighted to be welcomed by the agents' association KAEA as well as many other agents interested in getting to know the QE schools. Links have now been firmly established with the local agents who would very much like to see us back soon.
In both centres the days consisted of back to back B2B meetings organised by Marcom Connect. As well as this well organised part of the day there was an excellent lunch in both venues where agents and QE schools could continue their discussions.
Feedback from the two events has been excellent. Click below for further information.
