Earn The Eco-Dentistry Badge
We've just created the Eco-Dentistry Badge, a new and fun way to reward green behaviors when taking care of your oral heath! Earn the badge today and then share it with your patients, friends and family. Do you have what it takes?
We have exciting news here at the EDA! We've just launched the brand new "Eco-Dentistry Badge" to reward online users for their eco-friendly oral health care behaviors.
The award, created in collaboration with Practically Green, an influential company using gamification and social media to motivate people to make planet-friendly choices, provides specific actions individual consumers and their friends can take. The site has over 10,000 registered users and helps visitors measure the impact of their sustainable initiatives.
The customized badge specifically encourages users to:
- Use a toothbrush made from recycled or renewable materials, and properly recycle it when it's time to swap for a new one;
- Turn off the water while brushing;
- Seek oral care products free from chemicals, toxins and alcohol;
- Visit an eco-friendly dentist or participate in the EDA's "Green My Dentist" campaign by sending a letter to their dentist encouraging them to "go green".
As an EDA member, not only are these things you're already doing, but they also provide an easy way to educate patients on the importance of eco-friendly dentistry. This is a great tool for our member dentists, hygienists, assistants, practice managers and more to share with their patients, friends and family. As a growing number of consumers seek green dental practitioners, we want to set you up for success as the go-to dentist in your area!
Take a minute to sign up for free at PracticallyGreen.com and earn the Eco-Dentistry Badge. Once you've earned it, share it with your online community and help your patients earn their badge too. Soon, we'll have an army of clean, green, plaque fighting machines!

We all know the importance of flossing: those nasty bacteria that like to hide between our teeth wreak havoc on our gums unless disrupted every day. But did you know that our patient's mental health might also benefit from good oral hygiene habits? Take a look at this article and then share it with your patients and friends from your practice's website or Facebook!
